What am I covered for when I rent a vehicle?

When you rent a vehicle from Europcar, Third Party Liability cover for personal injury is provided at no extra cost. The cover provided is in accordance with State and Territory legislation and this cover is automatically included in the rental charges.

If there is damage caused to the vehicle, third party loss, or if the vehicle is stolen, an amount up to the Excess/Damage Liability Fee will be charged for each separate event applicable to the vehicle category. If the final loss is determined to be below the Excess/Damage Liability Fee charged, we will refund you the difference.

Damage Cover Products to reduce your Excess/Damage Liability Fee may be purchased when you make your booking or when you pick up the vehicle at the station and are subject to payment of an additional daily charge. You may still be liable for loss or damage not covered under the Terms and Conditions of Rental. You are not covered for the circumstances or events referred to in clause 5 of the Terms and Conditions of Rental, including a Serious Breach of the Rental Contract.

Please refer to the Terms and Conditions of Rental for the definition of a Serious Breach and for more information generally.
